CBS is going to embed video ads in the September issue of it’s print magazine Entertainment Weekly. According to Wired the video ad will showcase it’s fall TV lineup. The ad is being dubbed as the first video in print ‘VIP’ promotion. Opening the page will activate the embedded hardware player which will then play the ad.
Sponsored by Pepsi Max the ad will be delivered to select subscriptions in New York and LA. The real question is how serious is CBS to push this form of innovative advertisement forward? Not much I think.
