Google Chrome Update With Speed Improvements

by mindhacker on August 5, 2009

I didn’t think it was possible but the fastest browser on the web just got even faster with the latest update. The latest beta updates chrome to version 3.0.195.4 and according to their official blog speeds your browser by up to 30% on the V8 and SunSpider benchmarks.

The other major igoogle-chrome-logomprovements are in the omnibox and the new tab page. In the omnibox now you see website results as you type as well history results. In the new tab page now you can pin pages permanently even if your browsing activity changes, a feature I desperately needed. The best feature however is the fact that you can apply themes and some of them are pretty cool.  For full details about the update read their official blog entry titled “Why slow down when you can speed up”. Let’s hope they start adding support for addons so that I seriously consider chrome over firefox which is still the king of the browser kingdom.
